A Personal Word from Adam

Let's open the door to the fullness of your humanity...

Here's what I've learned from over 35 years of teaching:

You contain treasures.

Dreams that you have yet to express. Memories that are precious and might be lost. Meaningful insights that swim inside your noggin' but that you haven't yet immortalized into words.

These days, we are all battered by endless, empty "mediacrity." So much empty noise. And it's become especially hard to hear that "still, small voice" within that Elijah described - a voice that is neither in the fire, nor the wind... and definitely not on TikTok, X, Netflix or Facebook or CNN.

It's uniquely within you.

I developed the ongoing Write Through the Torah Workshop as an oasis, a sacred space, a creative playground, a place to quiet the world and - for a blissful pause - to listen to your inner voices, experience the world and your inner life afresh.

Originally, I created this practice for myself and a group at the University of Judaism in Los Angeles - to "renew my soul" amidst Hollywood projects that began to feel soulless.

And it worked! Drawing from the original text, from midrash and commentaries - kabalistic, mussar, chassidic and contemporary - as well from the most inspiring writing from the world's greatest writers, my students and I began to discover - and polish - those inner treasures.

What might you experience with these guided writing exercises?

Tears of joy and of sorrow finally expressed. Yes. The fierceness of truth voiced for the first time. Yes. The tenderness of family, of love, of the simple joy of living inside a body on this beautiful green Earth. Hell Yes.

What emerges in this workshop opens my heart every week, and I believe it will do the same for you. I invite you to join us and discover, express and share your own treasures.

After all, you're the only one in the world who can bring them into form.

What Adam's Clients and Students Say

Deep... Caring... Brilliant... Vulnerable... Funny.

Satyen Raja

CEO, WarriorSage Trainings

I have worked with Adam for two decades now and I have to say he’s the most brilliant and caring master of his craft anywhere. He asks the deeper questions that draw out my knowledge, experience and understanding in the most direct way. Then, with the artistic magnificence of DaVinci, helps me turn my expression into Written Gold.

Alex Rotaru

Film Director, Adjunct Professor. USC Graduate School of Cinema Arts

Adam is one of those rare high-level individuals who in his writing is 50% heart-centered and 50% irreverently hilarious… I can't believe how fresh and original the twists of his mind and language are. His ideas, dialogue and characters flow organically yet unexpectedly. If you can work with him, do so! Your creativity will explode - and I mean that in the good way.

Bianca D'errica

You are just pulled upward by Adam's positive energy, insightful curiosity and courageous love for all that is possible in our lives. He draws on so much wisdom it’s mind-boggling, but I believe that it is Adam’s presence of being that is the most powerful ingredient of his ...mentoring work.

Rich Litvin

Adam is hands down the most creative, funniest, broadly-learned and connected person I know. He is the spark to your creative flame. Adam will breath energy, fire, fun and a sense of adventure into your mission, your movie, your book or your business.

Adam's words come from the heart of a deep-feeling man, who has lived a lot. Few people have his ability with spoken and written word. I go back to his texts often as a reminder of what is possible and even necessary. Adam's coaching has clearly made me a better person in every aspect of life, more open, more direct and more courageous

Adam, you have such a way of expression with words…… As a woman who writes and communicates well – I find your writing touches the heart, and emotions, of a woman so profoundly. Yours is a rare and deeply inspiring gift in a man. Thank you, Adam, for reminding us we are all here to be a positive force in this life

Paul Kan

Adam is so smart, articulate and approachable. His way of telling his life story, foibles, and successes allows you to feel like one of his best friends. He is open, honest, vulnerable and funny. He's a scholar on many topics and uses all of his research and knowledge to empower people to rise up, be present, and be authentic. My life has changed as a result of Adam's teachings.

I wish to thank Adam Gilad who helped me write my book so that readers could get the full message of growth, grief and grace. He captured the love story, prompted me to bring out the details that matterd most - and with master writing and intuitive skills, weaved my words into a readable and relatable story that is touching people around the globe.

How It Works

You Can Choose Your Own Speed

01

First - we explore one rich psychological theme of the week's Torah portion, or parsha

02

Second - we unpack the literary and thematic richness through centuries of illuminating commentary - and start jotting down images that arise for you from your life.

03

Third - we open up these themes further by looking at some of the world's greatest literary writing inspired by that text or theme (modeling quality writing!)

04

Fourth - we take that mix and write to a series of detailed prompts to help open up your insights, memories, thoughts, dreams and images

05

Fifth - .....then - tah dah! ... Write! Write! Write! - just pour it out.

06

Sixth - we convene in small breakout groups to share your draft with your fellow explorers - or if you prefer, you can just listen

07

Seventh - We will look at selected writings from the group for feedback and sharpening

08

Eighth - do this for 52 weeks and you will own your own Complete "Spiritual Autobiography" "Personal Midrash" - a keepsake forever!
